Like many estates around the country the Ford estate as it was previously known has had many social problems, high crime rates, deprivation and poor housing stock. High rates of unemployment and lack of social facilities resulting in social decay.
To reverse this decay residents formed The Beechwood Community Association in 1986 which spearheaded massive changes that were to transform the estate into a proud and prosperous community. Residents worked in partnership with Wirral Council and an array of agencies to bring about positive changes. Renamed the "Beechwood" with massive investment going into improving its housing stock and local primary schools has resulted into an estate that residents can be proud of.
Beechwood Community Association then created its trading arm in 1995, Beechwood Community Trust which has a training centre (City & Guilds Approved), a 35 place Day Nursery and Beechwood Social Club. Beechwood Community Trust continues to provide services for its residents serving their needs and aspirations.
Beechwood Community Trust are committed to turning Vision after Vision into a Reality.
